Campus Clubs Grant Funding
Bring your club’s ideas to life with funding designed just for clubs!
Campus Club Grant Funding helps support events, projects, and initiatives that boost student engagement, strengthen your club, and create a positive experience for the wider NAIT community. Whether you’re hosting a social event, launching a new initiative, or building club resources—this funding is here to support your vision.
All funded activities must be:
- Inclusive – Welcoming to all students.
- Respectful – Creating a safe and positive space.
- Campus-appropriate – Suitable for a diverse post-secondary environment.
Let’s make your next great idea happen—together!
Before You Apply
To make sure your club’s grant application is reviewed, there are a few important steps to complete before you apply.
Grant Eligibility
To be eligible for funding, the President, VP Operations, and VP Finance must complete the following training requirements:
- Clubs Basic Training Path
- Clubs Advanced Training Path
Both training paths must be completed before the grant intake deadline you’re applying for. If any of the signing authorities have not completed both paths by the deadline, your application will be automatically denied.
Key Notes:
- Training only needs to be done once per academic year (not for every intake).
- If a signing authority changes, the new person must complete both training paths before the club can apply for funding.
For details on the training, visit the Paths Section of the Club Handbook.

What Grants Can Not Cover
To keep funding fair and focused on student engagement, there are a few things Campus Club Grants will not support:
- Materials or supplies that are required for classes, coursework, or program requirements.
- Gifts, deposits, merch supplies for non-NAIT students (such as NAIT Staff or NAIT Alumni).
- Deposits (Locker Deposits, Food Machine Cleaning Deposits).
- Gifts for club members.
- Costs for non-NAIT students (such as merchandise and attendance subsidies/fees. They will have to pay the full price).
- Alcohol or cannabis purchases.
- Donations made directly to charities.
- Auction items, like those for silent auctions.
- Events where NAIT is the main organizer. (The club must lead the event.)
- Items purchased prior to Grant Funding Approval.
NAITSA will not fund activities that:
- Are offensive, discriminatory, or otherwise deemed inappropriate for the campus community (e.g., misogynistic, homophobic).
- Advocate for genocide, incite hatred, or promote hatred against an identifiable group.
- Seek to promote partisan political agendas or specific religious beliefs. This includes events or activities that are deemed to significantly alienate or polarize members of the campus community.
- Feature candidates in municipal, provincial, or federal elections during the campaign period in a way that could provide an unfair advantage to one candidate.
- Have the potential to damage or negatively affect the reputation of NAITSA or NAIT.
- Funding decisions are ultimately at the discretion of the Grant Review Committee and may be subject to additional review to ensure alignment with campus community standards
When to Apply
There are six grant intakes each year, giving your club multiple chances to apply for funding.
Your event, project, or initiative must happen at least three weeks after the grant intake deadline. This allows time for your application to be reviewed and funds to be approved.
Plan ahead and give your idea the best chance for success!
Please note: All funding amounts listed are maximums and are subject to the discretion of the Grant Review Committee. The committee carefully considers each application to ensure that funding is distributed fairly and supports the largest possible number of club projects and initiatives.
