Food can elevate any club event by creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere—whether it’s snacks, meals, or bake sales. Clubs planning to include food must follow important guidelines for health, safety, and compliance.
When food is involved:
- Submit an Event Submission form on ookslife.ca.
- Have food safety certificates of club members handling food.
- Complete the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Registration Form.
- Be aware that an inspector may contact you with recommendations.
- Keep food activities separate from campus food vendors to maintain good relationships.
Clubs may serve food at on-campus events through Chartwells, the Nest Eatery, approved external food vendors, or bake sales. All food-related events must be submitted in advance through the Event Submission form on ookslife.ca and meet applicable food safety requirements. If your event includes food from an external vendor or a bake sale, additional approvals and documentation may be required.
